For Mysmartypants to be nominated as a best lingerie shop, well, etailer, is a real honour AND this isn't our first time. Over the years there's been some 77 participating brands,19,560 nominated stores, 2,250 finalists and 564 winners. Will we win an award? No idea but here at Mysmartypants lingerie we're working hard every day and its a real privilege even to be nominated as a finalist and of course be recognised as one of the best online retrailers in the industry.
Once a year the best lingerie boutiques and stores in Italy, Germany, the UK and North America are invited to prestigious venues to find out if they are a winner in the Best Shop Awards. The contest was first launched in Italy with Le Stelle dell’Intimo, then to the USA with The Best of Intima Awards, in Germany with Sterne der Wäsche, in the UK with Stars: Best Shop Awards and most recently in 2015 in France with Top 100.
Launched in 2007, the Stars Underlines Best Shop Awards is the only independent recognition of excellence in intimate apparel, swimwear and legwear retailing in the United Kingdom. Unlike other industry awards it is not possible for shops or online retailers to nominate themselves for the Stars Awards. Each entry is put forward by a Jury of 36 brands. All categorie awards except for Excellence, Editor’s Choice and Supplier of the Year are determined by jury nomination and evaluation.
2020 will see the 12th edition of these Awards and as well as being supported by Underlines Magazine the headline sponsor is LYCRA®, and Anita UK provide sponsorship of the Special Care Recognition Award.
Of course 2020 is a year like no other and the organisers of these awards feel it is more important than ever before to recognise those shops and outlets that have survived and thrived, and return a little normality to a hard hit industry.
There will be a major online campaign on social media including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and via the Underlines website. The lucky award winners will be announced online on Thursday 12th November with individual presentations after that as early as possible.
Mysmartypants.co.uk are delighted to have been nominated and shortlisted no less than 6 times in the last 7 years and been finalists in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and now in 2020 in the category of Best Specialist E-tailer.
The team were very much looking forward to the 2020 awards in November, hoping that this year might be the year when we brought an award home with us. But with COVID-19 having such a devastating effect on the retail industry and the current restrictions in place we did not know whether there would be an awards night in 2020 so we are truly honoured to have received notification of our nomination.
