Lingerie Awards finalists for the 9th time
We’re delighted to announce that we are finalists in the Underlines Magazine, Stars - Best Shop Awards 2022 as best Specialist lingerie Etailer/Website. This will be the 9th time we’ve been nominated and follows our win in this category in 2021, leaving us thrilled to have reached this point again and a massive thank you to all our customers old and new. As a small independent lingerie business, this recognition goes such a long way, particularly in the challenging times of the last 2 years.
About The Stars Underlines Best Lingerie Shop Awards
Once a year the best lingerie boutiques, department stores and ecommerce websites in Italy, Germany, the UK and North America are invited to prestigious venues in their own markets to find out if they are a winner in the Best Shop Awards. With 20 leading brands nominating over 450 companies, a shortlist of 68 finalists has been complied of which we’re one of in the UK.
The contest was first launched in Italy with Le Stelle dell’Intimo, then to the USA with The Best of Intima Awards, in Germany with Sterne der Wäsche, in the UK with Stars: Best Shop Awards and most recently in 2015 in France with Top 100.
The Stars Underlines Best Shop Awards are the only independent recognition of excellence in intimate apparel, swimwear and legwear retailing in the United Kingdom. All categories except Excellence, Editor’s Choice and Supplier of the Year are determined by jury nomination and evaluation. Unlike many awards across various industries we don’t actually put ourselves forward for this prestigious accolade. At first, we’d be nominated and then we supply relevant details for the esteemed pane to evaluate. We’ve obviously not always been so lucky even to be nominated!
For the last couple of years, we haven’t been able to have a physical awards night due to COVID. 2020 saw a very much slimmed down presentation online as we all got to grips with the impact COVID was having on business. 2021 was a little more exciting with a live Zoom event seeing the great and the good of the lingerie industry going online, holding Zoom parties and occasionally forgetting their microphones weren’t muted! Cue a few priceless comments, general family life going on in the background and a sneaky peak in to many people’s homes!
So it’s very exciting that the 14th Edition of Stars Underlines Best Shop Awards will take place Thursday 17th November 2022 at the new venue of Plaisters Hall, One London Wall, London. After two years of long-distance presentation, it will be wonderful to catch up with all the finalists in person and enjoy a glass or two of bubbly. The lingerie industry is a very close-knit community of passionate individuals all sharing a common interest and we love spending time with them.
With the support of primary sponsor, The LYCRA Company, and BIRA (British Independent Retailers’ Association) the event brings together leading lingerie brands and retailers throughout the UK and Ireland. Stars also welcomes, Anita UK as the sponsor of the Special Care Recognition Award.
So fingers crossed for us and the other nominees in their various categories and a nod to the Jury for the 2022 Stars Awards.
This years Jury assembled from the UK, Europe and North America includes Chantelle, Anita, Natori, Empreinte, Gottex (Alba Associates), Cottonreal, Mey, Maison Lejaby, Lise Charmel, Maryan Beachwear (Intimates Lingerie), Panache, Aubade, Cyberjammies and the Wacoal Group.
